Emily's mother, Liat, passed away from cancer when Emily was only two years old. Despite this loss, Emily's family showered her with love, ensuring she received everything a child her age needs and desires.
On that fateful Saturday, October 7th, Emily slept over at her friend's house, which was targeted by terrorists. Communication with her was abruptly cut off in the afternoon, and after a few days, the family received the heartbreaking news of Emily's body being discovered. About three weeks later, the IDF informed the family that there is evidence indicating Emily's presence among those abducted in Gaza.
On November 25, as part of the second phase of the exchange deal, she was released and united with her dad.
