Tal was kidnapped along with his mother Chen Goldshtein Almog (49) and her two sibling’s, Gal (9) and Agam (17). His father, Nadav, and older sister, Yam, were murdered.
On November 26, Chen and her three childern, Agam, Gal and Tal were released, as part of the third phase of the exchange deal.
Tal Goldshtein was captured with his 2 siblings Gal and Agam and their mother Chen from their home in Kfar Aza. His father Nadav and his older sister Yam were murdered by Hamas on the 7th of October. When I received his picture I immediately felt connected to him, I am a mother of a nine year old child myself and it made the process very personal for me. I have decided to focus on Tal's face as the center of the painting, thinking that any metaphorical image will not be as strong as his own gaze staring back at me.
